How long does it take to manufacture or produce my signs?

This can depend on a few factors such as material availability, production schedules, design approval and the concept of the project.

Typically, we aim to deliver your signage project within 10 – 15 working days, we will always discuss this with you at the point of order. We produce the majority of our projects in house meaning we can accommodate your needs where required.

What type of signs do you provide?

Here at Red Dragon we have created the business and developed processes to suit all your signage needs.

We provide a wide range of signs and graphics which include; vehicle graphics, Illuminated signs, interior and exterior signs, exhibition and point of sale solutions, window graphics, labels and stickers, green walls and more.

Majority of our projects our bespoke and made to order, allowing us to be versatile and adaptable to you. 

How do I pay?

For all new customers we usually request a 50% deposit before any work has commenced and this can be paid via cash, cheque, card or Pro-forma invoice.

We love to build a working relationship with our customers and support you where we can. Once you have set up an account, we can then offer you a 30day invoice account.

Do you carry out free surveys / consultations?

We feel it is important to understand the space and your business to ensure we can offer you the best solution. Certain signage and processes lend itself to certain options and our experienced team will be able to advice on the best approach.

On our visit we talk through ideas and materials available, whilst also taking a survey to ensure we can provide an accurate quote.

How long will me signage last?

This is dependant on the spec and the requirements of your project. We produce both temporary and permanent signage for customers using a range of materials which will impact the durability of the signs. 

With each project we take into consideration many factors such as where the signage will be located, UV exposure, longevity requirement and cost.

We offer a range of materials and finishes to suit your budget and requirements; we even have anti-vandal and tamper proof solutions we can apply to protect against vandalism.

Taking that all into consideration, most signs should last a number of years and can be a great investment for your business opposed to a one-off cost, as great signage will market your business 24/7.

What are Built Up Letters?

Essentially Built Ups are letters or logos which are 3D. Our built ups are creating adding sides to a flat cut letter/logo to give depth and achieve the 3D finish. These can be manufactured using acrylic or aluminium depending on your requirements. Majority of our built ups are created with aluminium, as we can offer a longevity sign which won’t rust or corrode and suitable for indoor or outdoor applications. 

Another advantage is we can powder-coat to a high-quality matt, satin or gloss finish in a range of RAL colours to match to your brand guidelines and specifications.

If you’re looking for illumination for your sign, we can apply LEDS within the letter or logo to provide a face or halo illumination, ensuring a clean and quality finish.

What’s face and halo illumination?

Face lit letters are one of the most popular lit up sign lettering options. They are built with LED modules adhered to the inside of each built up letter, providing illumination to the face of it. We can change the colour using coloured acrylic, RGB LEDS or simply applying sign vinyl onto it.

Backlit lettering is our second most popular option and offers a contemporary and sleek finish. Built up letters are designed with a powder coated aluminium face with solid returns and translucent acrylic backtray that diffuses the LED light creating a halo effect behind the lettering. The important thing to consider when ordering halo lit lettering is the colour of the wall which will always determine what would be the colour and brightness of the light reflected off its surface.

Do you supply lighting to make my business sign illuminated?

We would recommend adding lighting to your signage to ensure that you receive visibility throughout the day and night. We provide a range of lighting for both exterior and interior, using LED’s and trough lighting we can guarantee longevity and cost-effective solutions. Do I need an electrician?

Yes, you should use a qualified electrician to provide a feed or wire up the signage. Red Dragon can recommend a local electrician, or we can manage the process for you saving you time and stress.

Do you provide proofs?

Yes, for the majority of our projects we will provide artwork visuals which must be signed off by the customer before it’s manufactured and fitted. Any amendments following the approval maybe chargeable.

All Artwork remain the property of Red Dragon Signs until an order is placed.

Do I need a sign for my business?

Signs & Graphics should be viewed as a form of marketing for your business. Done correctly it can be the most effective and inexpensive form of advertising, promoting your business all year round. 

Signage can be the first point of communication for your customers/visitors and it’s important to leave a lasting impression, furthermore you don’t need to spend a huge amount of money to achieve this.

You may not need a main sign, but you may require health and safety signs which are a mandatory requirement and an area we can help you with.

Do I need planning or Advertising consent?

In some cases, yes. You may need to apply for advertisement consent to display your signage if it’s bigger than 0.3 Square metres, has illumination, on the front or outside of your property. 

Temporary notices up to 0.6 square metres relating to local events, such as street parties and concerts, may also be displayed for a short period. There are different rules for estate agents’ boards, but, in general, these should not be bigger than 0.5 square metres. 

We offer a planning and advertising consent service where we can provide the relevant drawings and information for the process, or we can manage the whole application on your behalf.

What file types do you accept?

We accept artwork / logos / images / photographs in most formats but prefer the following: AI, PDF, EPS, Jpg, Plt and PSD files. If you can provide Vector files this also helps with production and quality of the finished product. 

If files are provided in unsuitable formats or poor resolution, we will contact you to discuss your options as these may need to redrawn or created. If this is the case an additional charge may be applied to your project.
